I am very honoured to welcome you all to the European Sterilization Conference 2004 organized in collaboration with the Society of Central Sterilization Units and the European Forum for Hospital Sterile Supply. It will be held at the Altin Yunus Hotel in Izmir.
Each health institution has different applications of sterilization methods suitable for their own requirements to deal with hospital infections which are a major threat to human and hospital health. The method and place of sterilization and the parameters of monitoring the sterilization process are of major importance in a hospital.
I hope that this conference will serve as a scientific medium, where new knowledge can be shared, and the collaboration and solidarity between managers, technicians, nurses and physicians working in sterilization processes can be strengthened.
I believe that the participation of international and national scientists will help this to be a fruitful and satisfactory programme. I invite all colleagues working in the sterilization process to Izmir on May 5-7, 2004 and wish you all best.
